Today is Independence Day for the good ‘ol U.S. of A. I can’t help but feel proud to be an American. Despite the craziness that has overtaken our government’s leadership, the US is still a good place to be. We are a spoiled group of people and we take for granted all the riches we have. I’m not talking about money, but liberties and freedoms that feel like basic human rights in this land.
I’ve never been one who was interested in politics and government, but in recent years, I have not been able to get away from the negativity flooding the media. Believe me, I’ve tried. I don’t watch the news. I don’t read the paper. I try to follow cute animal pages on social media and still I get bombarded with how bad our current ‘Leadership’ is. Some posts and stories make it seem like the US is a laughing stock. But, you know what? It doesn’t matter.
Because in the end… who I choose to believe in are the awesome people that make America great. It is in the greatness of these people’s selflessness, will for peace, and light of awesomeness that will rise above all of the bullcaca. Land of the free. Home of the brave.
There’s no room for negativity. There’s no room for trolls.
We’re all in this together and the sooner we all realize that, the better we will be — as a people and as a nation.
