I’ve been thinking… thinking about this past year and the resolutions that I made when 2012 started. Like most people I was gung-ho about doing all the right things and came out of the gates running– my intent so strong on following through with all my various resolutions. But, also like a lot of people I quickly lost steam and went back to my habits. Went back to the very same routines that I was trying to break free from and another year went past that I did more of the same.
2012 has come and gone and although I did not reach my goal to get to that “ideal weight,” as I had originally resolved to do, 2012 was not without its rewards. In fact, 2012 was quite significant in terms of my stretching beyond my comfort zone and accomplishing things I never thought I would even strive for.
So, for 2013 I want to try to break from tradition. Break from creating that list of things to do in the New Year. For this year, my only resolution is this… “follow my heart.”
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned this past year is that when I took the risk to follow my heart, I ended up finding joy, peace, excitement. I found life again! In years past, when I’ve only done what I thought I was supposed to be doing, life felt flat. The only stimulus that I had to break the monotony was stress and agitation. Not good and it nearly broke me.
So for 2013, I will resolve to be true to myself and follow my heart’s direction–for the heart knows where we need to go to find our true path. Where will your heart take you? Are you willing to listen to your heart and your Spirit?
For 2013 give it a try. Listen for those urgings, for those knowings, that you get but question where they come from. This is your heart talking to you, trying to get your attention. Will you give your heart a chance to show you a bigger, brighter world? The world is waiting for you; for when you are ready to follow your heart–the Universe listens and will bring you the expansion you desire and the abundance you crave.
For 2013 I wish you much abundance and joy in all you do. May your world expand beyond your wildest dreams.
