Awareness

Awareness

One of the things I’m trying to learn is to be more aware. I’m trying to learn how to better connect with my intuition. This is really hard for me because I have a noisy mind. My mind is constantly churning over thoughts after thoughts, after thoughts of multiple varieties and then it goes into a repeat cycle. It’s very rare, that my mind slows down and gets quiet.

I wish I could say that I was having genius ideas and breakthroughs or mind blowing inspirational thoughts, but a lot of times, it really just feels like monkeys are having a dance party in my head. It’s like having a noisy neighbor who won’t shut up. On rare occasions however, I do get a hit of a sparkly thought. An inspiration. And let me tell you, those moments feel so good and the thoughts feel so right. It’s soft, unobtrusive, and easy. In my current learning, I think this is what they’re talking about when they say connecting with your intuition, or guides, or angels.

The challenge for me is that, I often miss these thoughts because of the noise in my head. So, trying to slow down is key for me. It’s learning to pick out these thoughts, isolating them, and then switching my focus to those thoughts instead.

I don’t know if you’ve ever watched Spongebob? In several of the cartoon episodes, he’s out catching jellyfish with a net. And he’s having the time of his life. He’s singing and dancing and he’s having fun with the jellyfish! They love him as much as he loves them! He has no cares in the world when he’s out there playing.

I want to be like Spongebob in this way. I need a net to capture the inspirational thoughts and to have fun with it. These jellyfish thoughts (inspirations) are so quiet and just glide by, that if I don’t pay attention, I totally miss the moment. I miss the moments of ease and trusting that everything will be fine.

It’s paying attention and being present in the moment. To learning how to sift through the noise vs. the inspired thoughts. With the podcasts I’m listening to, they also say to acknowledge those hits when you get them. It’s taking that quick second to say, “I got it!” I think this probably does something to connect everything to the physical. My hope is that it’s like muscle memory. The more you do something, it becomes more automatic.

I am hoping that I can get to the point where the worrying thoughts quiet down and I’m really just having fun picking through which guidance or inspired thoughts I want to follow. Talk about magick! Wouldn’t that be something?

If you are on a similar journey, I hope that you are having fun catching your jellyfish!

Thank you for being here. I hope you enjoy the various topics posted on this site. It’s mostly going to be about things that interest me. I’ve tried to find a “niche,” but that hasn’t worked so far. I don’t think lives can be niched, when people are so complex and dynamic. My hope is just go with the flow. But regardless of what I post, my intention is always geared towards positivity and sharing lessons that hopefully resonates with you.
