Crystals and dreaming

Crystals and dreaming

I’ve been informally experimenting with crystals and dreaming. Crystals are magical tools that can do all sorts of things when given the chance. A lot of times, what I see online on crystal healing are about the benefits to get over some type of physical ailment. Or perhaps to give strength to overcome a fear like speaking in public.

I think if there’s an issue to be overcome, there’s a crystal for it.

In addition to crystals, one of my many metaphysical interests is in dreams. What happens when we sleep? Sure, there’s the scientific reasons. Our bodies must sleep. We have to “turn off” and give ourselves the time to recharge and renew. In fact, lack of sleep can cause serious damage to a person both physically and mentally.

But dreaming. What is that about? There’s lots of theories, but I don’t think there’s absolute consensus on why we dream. But we all do. Every single person dreams whether they remember the dream or not. It’s a nightly journey we embark on. Some folks have developed the skill to control their dreams and be active participants in it. This is called lucid dreaming. I used to be able to do this when I was younger, but not so much any more.

Now, I struggle to remember my dreams. I don’t know about you, but not remembering my dreams makes me feel like I’ve missed out on something, especially because I used to be able to lucid dream. Do you ever wake up and know you’ve been dreaming, but as soon as your mind is alert, the feelings, the residual images, it all instantly fades away? It’s so frustrating!

There’s lots of tips online on how to remember your dreams. I think the one that would probably work the best is the one where you write down your dreams. But this would mean waking up several times during the night. Ugh! I can’t do it. I need my 8, or I am not a nice person in the morning.

Anyways, I digress. How did I connect crystals and dreams?

With crystals, I like to keep a couple under my pillow. I also like to change them out. By accident, I noticed that depending on what type of crystals were under my pillow – was also having an impact of my dreams and dreaming.

I thought I was imagining things at first. So, I started paying attention. And lo and behold, the crystals are definitely having an affect on my dreams and dreaming. Here’s what I mean. For the longest time, I had a golden healer under my pillow. Golden Healer is from the quartz family. For those who are sensitive to crystals, this might bother your sleep because quartz is an amplifier and might keep you awake. But since, I’m not super sensitive, I can sleep with quartz.

With the golden healer under my pillow — my dreams were INTENSE and super fantastical. My dreams tend to be very surreal anyway, but with the golden healer, I often felt like the dreams were out of this world. The kind of dreams that would make you go “whoa.”

Next, I had a lepidolite under my pillow. This one I didn’t notice any dramatic difference or changes in my dreams. I would say my sleep was calm, but I really didn’t remember dreaming either.

Next, I tried labradorite. Labradorite is one of my favorite stones. When I had this under my pillow, my dreams had a recurring theme to them. Different scenes and scenarios but all had the same feel. When I woke up I felt like there was a lesson I had to figure out.

Currently, I’ve got two stones under my pillow. I have a polychrome jasper and a dendritic agate. I must say, I’m liking this combo. I’m finding that not only am I remembering the dreams, but the dreams are fluid. Like the scenes are going from one to another like a continuous movies. The dreams still have a strong element of surrealness to them, but not so weird and crazy like with the golden healer. I think I’m going to keep these two under my head for a while.

Here’s a picture of a polychrome jasper and dendritic agate. These are not my personal stones. I got these pics from Crystal Council. Crystal Council has tons of info on crystals. Here’s a link to these two stones if you’d like more educational info: Dendritic Agate and Polychrome Jasper. (I’m not an affiliate or anything of Crystal Council. I just really like their website when I’m looking for crystal info.)

Crystals are energy bundles contained in pretty nature made containers called rocks. Just like people, each stone is unique and I believe carries a different energy even within the same class. What I mean is this. You see that picture with the 3 polychrome jaspers in it? They’re all the same type of stone, but I would bet each of those stones carries a unique feel specific to itself.

I think crystals affect people differently. What I may experience may not be the same as yours. But both experiences are good and right. We all just have to be open to how we connect with the energies from these stones and have fun with them. Experiment and see what works for you.

Thank you for being here. I hope you enjoy the various topics posted on this site. It’s mostly going to be about things that interest me. I’ve tried to find a “niche,” but that hasn’t worked so far. I don’t think lives can be niched, when people are so complex and dynamic. My hope is just go with the flow. But regardless of what I post, my intention is always geared towards positivity and sharing lessons that hopefully resonates with you.
